Our debut profile is with Jennifer Lawrence from The Nursery Fairy in Wagga, who has been busy making b.box one of the hottest baby products in the area. Here's how Jen answered our top 10. How long have you been in business? 12 months online and now 3 months in our new store. Yey! What did you do before you started your business? In welfare for five years, being a Mum and before that tripping around the world in the travel industry. What makes your business unique? We are different in many aspects. We have “In Store Baby Showers” and “Product Information Evenings”, “Wish list Service”, “Kids Room Makeover Consultancy Service”, “Online Store – www.nurseryfairy.com.au” and a spectacular new store in Wagga Wagga. The thing we pride ourselves on is offering that good old fashioned customer service. Sounds corny, but there is not enough good customer service out there. What do you love most about what you do? I love seeing the excitement in people’s faces when they have a new baby in their lives. Grandparents are the best. They are so proud and overwhelmed to see the next generation come into their lives. Where’s your favourite way of sourcing new products? I love finding products from very clever mums who work from home, (that is where I started from). Also listening to our customers and what they would like to see. Along with searching Google, Yahoo etc. for quirky, useful and really different products. What’s your favourite time of the day? Morning time, the calm before the storm. Wake up enjoy the first cup of coffee for the day, before packing the kids lunches, watching the news, weather and what’s happening in Hollywood. What’s the best piece of parenting advice you’ve ever received? Every day is a new day and don’t try to be perfect all the time: just enjoy your kids. If you could become any character from a children’s story, who would you be and why? Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge (By Mem Fox) as I would love to be able to help people with Alzheimer’s remember. My favourite book of all time. Who inspires you? My little girls. You learn so much from your kids when you listen to them. Who lives under your roof? My very supportive husband, three girls and a very naughty Maltese puppy named Dolly.
